The Patrick J. Milde Foundation, Inc. was founded to honor the memory of a New Jersey youth killed in an auto accident. Patrick J. Milde died on January 14th, 2001 with his long time friend Thomas "TJ" Brady. Both young men were 17-year-old juniors at Roxbury High School. Patrick and TJ would have graduated with the class of 2002.

The Patrick J. Milde Foundation, Inc. was established to award scholarships to graduates of Roxbury High School where the young man was a student at the time of his death. The Patrick J. Milde Memorial Scholarship will be awarded in Patrick's memory on an annual basis to a Roxbury High School, graduating senior.

In 2002, the inaugural year of the award, three scholarships were presented to members of the Roxbury High School graduating class. Each scholarship was in the amount of $2,002 and intended to assist with the recipients' college costs. Applications for the scholarships were open to all graduating seniors participating on the Roxbury High School cross-country and soccer teams. In 2003 and beyond, the scholarship will be open to members of the varsity swimming, cross-country and soccer teams. Patrick competed on the Roxbury High School cross-country team during his freshman and sophomore years. As a junior, he was a member of the soccer team. He also participated as a member of the Roxbury Racers Swim Team. At the 2006 Roxbury Football Fan Club Awards Dinner it was announced that members of the Varsity Football team are now invited to apply for the scholarship. Although Patrick didn't play football, he was his brother Sean's (#23) biggest fan.

The Scholarship was initially funded by donations from family, friends and local organizations. Future fundraising events will be held to sustain the scholarship. In addition to fundraisers, donations can be made to The Patrick J. Milde Memorial Scholarship Fund, Roxbury High School, c/o Mrs. Pat Rogers, Guidance Department, 1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna, New Jersey, 07876.

The Patrick J. Milde Memorial Scholarship Fund was created to establish a perpetual memorial to a young man who touched the lives of many people. The foundation was incorporated in March 2001 and has been granted status as a 501(c) (3) publicly supported organization by the IRS.
